THON Raised $7,838,054 For The Kids!

When I found out that the Penn State students raised  $7,838,054 for pediatric cancer research I seriously died…I just couldn’t believe it. I knew that it was the biggest student-run philanthropy in the world, but just seeing that number still somehow put me into a state of shock.  Keep in mind these are STUDENTS who are devoting all of their college time to such an incredible cause — seeing all of their hard work pay off honestly brought tears to my eyes.  ESPECIALLY in this economy, the fact they were still able to beat last year’s total is unreal and I don’t think anyone was expecting that.

I just wanted to do this post to tell the thousands of people who put their time, energy and heart into THON how proud I am of all of you and how much you have inspired me since I learned about your wonderful charity. Thank you so much for everything you do and keep on fighting.  It’s because of people like you that I truly believe that one day we will find a cure.
For The Kids,
Khloé

Hi, its great that you were able to help raise money for pediatic cancer research. We created a foundation that raises money not for research but instead gives DIRECTLY to families struggling with cancer. We have seen that the costs acssociated with the disease can force families to make decisions that can be life or death. Please help spread the word http://www.dmccf.com we have an event March 5th as noted on the website. ALL proceeds go to people that need it.

Khloe, Thank you so much for bringing some attention to THON! As a Penn State student, it’s awesome to see how known our organization is becoming! It’s grown so much over the years and it’s just so awesome how interested you are. Next year you definitely need to come! :) It was my first year and it was such an amazing experience. It definitely changed my life! Thanks again!!

Hey Khloe, I go to Penn State and it really is incredible. Two of my roomates are moralers and they work extremely hard all year for THON. They had four hours on the floor, four hours off for three days. One of my roomates best friends was a dancer this year too. He was so close to giving up but eventually made it to Sunday. He said it was the hardest thing of his life but it doesn’t even compare to what the kids go through battling cancer. I wasn’t involved with THON this year but hopefully next year I will have an opportunity to do so. If you havent seen it already you must must MUST youtube Tucker Haas – Boom Boom Pow…it is the cutest thing in the entire world. Trust me.
