So Sick of Bullying-Related Tragedies

Khloe Kardashian Blogs About Bully Victim Rachel Ehmke
I am so sick of hearing stories in the news about teenagers and even CHILDREN taking their lives as a result of being bullied by their peers. It truly makes me sick. This week, it’s the tragic story of Rachel Ehmke, a beautiful 13-year-old girl who committed suicide on April 29 after being bullied for months, that we’re all reading about. It breaks my heart to say this, but who will it be next week? This needs to stop! I know I’m just one person, but it frustrates me so much to keep hearing the same heart wrenching story over and over again and kids STILL continue to torture each other. It just blows my mind that people can be so hurtful to one another. I’m sorry, I know I’m ranting, but I just had to vent. This all just makes me so unbelievably sad. I want to leave off with a message to the victims of bullying, and to the bullies themselves…

To the victims: As someone who was viciously bullied as a child, I can PROMISE you, that this will not last forever! It seems like the end of the world now, but you have so much to look forward to that you don’t even know about. Kids can be cruel, but you just have to be strong and ignore the hurtful words. It really does get better and someday this will all be behind you. Just hang in there.

To the bullies: There is nothing cool about being mean to others. It’s the nice ones who get the furthest in life. Please just treat everyone the way you would want to be treated. Nobody likes a bully.

This girl was friends with my daughters friend. They went to the same school. It is absolutely horrible…but sadly that’s how most of the cities in this state are. Race, sexuality and just being bullied. I taught my daughter that no matter what love herself and never judge. Who r we to say we are any better then the next. So so sad. Breaks my heart.

I posted this on your Facebook but here it is again
As terrible as this will probably sound, adults and kids are getting too weak on this subject. Everyone should stand up for themselves, what’s the worst that could happen? They beat you up? If they do they get in trouble. In the end if you stand up for yourself you win and they lose. I know what I’m saying because from elementary all they way to high school I was bullied everyday, I was called a horse, the N word, ugly, bitch and I was always blamed for everything that went wrong. But not once did I ever think of suicide. I eventually stood up for myself, and guess what? They stopped picking on me, sure it came my senior year but I still stood up for myself and gained some self respect. I am damaged, I do have self esteem issues but in the end I’m still alive and I proved that anyone can survive bullying. And now I will stand up for those being bullied. Suicide just gives the bullies more power and the win. People should not be so weak in discipline and kids should learn to stand up for themselves, bruises and cuts heal but you can’t ever come back from death.

I agree with you there im against bully but come on to kill yourself over it is sooo pathetic life can’t be that bad wow you get bullied go be selfish and ruin your familys life by killing yourself. Like you said STANDUP TO THEM WHATS THE WORST THAT CAN HAPPEN!!!! Even if i was EVER bullied i would NEVER put my family through that

you are right. sometimes being alone causes you to work on yourself and only do things in life that benefit you. the only that opinion that matters is yours and your family’s. I had anorexia when I was 11 and went through treatment and the hospital. People at my school were not supportive at all but looked at it like it was contagious and even bashed my parents. The teachers were even sharing my eating habits to other parents and those parents called my mom and told them their daughter/son couldn’t be friends with me. I was strong enough to fight through that, so I’m strong enough to keep fighting comments other people give me.
