Lamar’s Work With Cathy’s Kids

It is unfortunate that my husband has been the target of an attack on athletes’ charities, although he has personally contributed approximately $2.2 million to his foundation, Cathy’s Kids, to fulfill its charitable purposes that include helping underprivileged inner-city youth.

The millions of dollars personally contributed by Lamar constituted more than 90% of the money raised by the foundation. All of the funds donated by Lamar and the other contributions to Cathy’s Kids were used for one of the foundation’s intended charitable purposes. Not one penny went to help Lamar personally or any member of his family. No charitable funds were misused, and the IRS has repeatedly given Cathy’s Kids a clean bill of health, confirming that there were no improprieties.

Cathy’s Kids was formed with several purposes in mind, including benefitting underprivileged youth and cancer research. A decision was ultimately made that the charity should focus on one of those purposes — to help enrich the lives of underprivileged inner-city youth. It accomplished that goal. Cathy’s Kids helped fund multiple AAU basketball teams providing underprivileged youth with opportunities enriching their lives, providing financial support for coaching and travel to tournaments, helping inner-city youth on a path toward success and leading many participants to go on to college.

People are so stupid and have way too much time on their hands. They are always trying to bring someone down. There are more important things to worry about in life.

It’s ridiculous how one lie travels around the world. They were really trying to use Lamar and Khloe as the face of this. So sick!

Lamar shouldn’t be put in a position where he has to explain himself. There he is trying to help underprivileged kids, and his reputation is basically being slammed for it. This is just wrong! If it wasn’t for issues like this being brought up into question, more famous people might create an organization to help those less fortunate. Propps to you and Lamar for your concern for the underprivelged. I think the both of you are amazing people with big hearts. Keep up the good work, and screw all of those who wish to believe this bs…~Hugs~

People are so ridiculously stupid and have way too much time on their hands. They have nothing better to do than to try and bring someone down and ruin a person’s good reputation. Love you and Lamar. Continue to do the good work that you do to better the lives of others.

I am so sorry to hear of this, I guess I work to hard to pay attention to negativity for charity!! Apparently I have no time on my hands to delve into the world of nit picking at generous humans!! I work and my family lives paycheck to paycheck and we still give to a various of charities. I don’t ever ask or am i concerned with where that money goes. I have four children 16-2 and we all know how to help. It almost makes a person feel like it does no good when you read something like this….but then you pull it together realize there is no shame in the game of help!!!! And baby don’t hate the player hate the game!!!!! And if you hate the game of charity, you already got too much, you’d rather report on one than invest some of your own to start a good one!!! Lamar you are doing and have always done good..Thank You!!!

    Hi Doll!
Don´t let the “haters” steal your energy!!
You and Lamar, and all of your family works hard for your success and have earned it and don´´t let anyone take that away and the fact that you guys also get involved in charity is a great thing!!
So, feel the love, respect and support and let “the others” worry about themselves, obviously they have way too much time on their hands! Maybe they should get involved in a charity themselves instead?! ;)
    Lots of love from Sweden!!

So, the purpose of Cathy’s Kids is for the benefit of underprivileged youth and cancer research? As a cancer survivor, I am appalled that you and Lamar would choose basketball over cancer victims. Instead of sitting in the stands watching kids playing basketball, spend some time in the hospitals or doctor’s offices watching cancer patients having chemotherapy or radiation treatments. Then tell me which group actually deserves actual charitable contributions. Your choice absolutely disgusts me. Now let the Kardashian minions kiss your butts. I’m done with you.

I AGREED! You are a cancer survior and a true inspiration! Unfortunatly, these “minions” are too ingnorant to realize or even bother to get the facts.
