Answering YOUR Questions About Periods!

Thanks so much to everyone who left questions about periods for me! I think it was really brave of you and it was a great way to encourage others to be open about a topic we should ALL feel comfortable discussing.

Answering fan questions is seriously my faaaavorite thing to do so I had a lot of fun with this :) Read the first question I answered after the jump, and then click through the gallery to see the rest.

Also, be sure to check out the third episode from the series Kim, my mom and I created (after the jump) to see the artwork I created out of pads LOL. You can watch the rest of the videos on the Celebuzz Getting Real Page.

Dear Khloe,
You’re my hero and you mean so much to me! I feel like I can ask you anything, because you’re so open. So, here goes. I’m gonna stop being embarrassed about my period right now! I want to start using tampons, but I’m REALLY freaked out! I’ve heard that they can be really dangerous :( What was your first time using tampons like? Were you as scared as I am, or am I a freak? Please help me Khloe! I’m really freaked out!
Love you forever Angel :)

Hi Katie!
First off I want to say how proud I am that you are admitting this scares you! So many women do not admit this! Trust me, I think tampons scare everyone at first. When I was younger I heard such crazy stories about Tampons — I had such anxiety about using them as well. The first time I ever tried to wear one I was completely uncomfortable. It took me HOURS alone in my bathroom trying to figure out how to put in the tampon, am I doing it right? Is it in far enough? So many thoughts were running through my mind. But I learned over time that your body will tell you if something is right or wrong. You will definitely know if you are doing it right. It’s all about getting to know your body and trusting your feelings. I learned how to put a tampon in properly in one weekend and now I would NEVER use anything else. I feel as though tampons are much more sanitary and they make you feel more comfortable. Once you get the hang of it, it is 10 times easier than pads. I wish you luck and I would totally try it out! After your first day and after you get the hang of it, I think you will never turn back. Brave question!!!

Hey Khloe :) I love your show you and your sisters really inspire me to follow my goals! Because you are such an inspritation to women out there I hope you will let them know that not having periods doesn’t make them any less of a woman! I am 20years old and have recently been diagnosed with polycistic ovaries which means I do not have periods and cannot have children. At first I thought that this meant that I was less of a woman and could not do the one thing woman were supposed to do naturally such as have a child! But then i realized the good you can do with things such as adoption and I hope people will realize not to feel left out from their friends if they don’t have periods! And anyone with highly irregular periods (one every few months) should always check with their local GP. :) Thanks!
