Cooking For World AIDS Day!

Hi dolls. In light of World Aids Day today, I volunteered at Project Angel Food with a group of MAC makeup artists to put together meals for those living with the AIDS virus.  Project Angel Food is a local organization that delivers more than 11,000 nutritious and free meals to those suffering from life-threatening illnesses, including cancer and HIV/AIDS.  It’s the only charity in LA County that gives daily free meals to those in need, while others charge for such services.

It was a great experience and a wonderful cause that I was honored to have the opportunity to work with.  It’s so important that we all take the time to give back.  If you can’t go out and volunteer today, stop by your local MAC store and purchase a VIVA GLAM  product because the MAC AIDS Fund will match dollar-for-dollar the sales for all Viva Glam lipstick and lipglass which are sold for $14.

While Project Angel Food has plenty of loyal volunteers, they could ALWAYS use more!  To find out how YOU can make a difference, go to www.projectangelfood.org, or you can get more info on their Facebook Fanpage.  Every little thing helps :)

Also, for those of you who like to cook, I signed this apron and want to give it away here on my site.  In order to win, tell me in a comment what you do to get in the giving spirit, no matter how small it may be!

Hello, I get in the giving spirit by thinking of how much something that a buy or do would make that persons day better. Just by hanging out with my grandma for a day shopping with her makes her so happy. Just having the feeling of how I will make the person happier puts me in a great giving spirit! <3

I religiously clean out my families closets every 6 months and set up a huge box and send clothes to the Dominican Republic. Also my younger sisters who are in elementary school and I give out a few of their toys away to the less fortunate about every 3 months!! Been donating for YEARS. Would love to win the apron

I teach future public health nurses. As a public health nurse we work on various public health issues such as HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention and treatment. This giving goes beyond a job as imparting important knowledge to future generations is key.

It’s important to be in the giving spirit all year round; it means a lot, especially to my sales associates who I supervise. They remember the managers who say “hello” and “thank you.” I give them little “way to go!” surprises to make them feel valued and appreciated. I ask them about school and lend them advice about guys, and relationships! And who doesn’t like when their boss buys them coffee and snacks?! My associates rock!!

I can’t compete with some of these other posters, but I always put on a smile and treat everyone with RESPECT! I feel a positive comment is the best medicine :)
