For those of you who don’t already know, Ken Starr and the Prop 8 Legal Defense Fund are trying to divorce the 18,000 same-sex couples that were married in California in 2008. I am horrified by all the hate that exists in this world, but there is something we can do about it!
Prop 8 doesn’t mean that churches lose their tax exempt status or that gay marriage, or marriage of any kind, will HAVE to be taught in schools. This isn’t about morality. If it were, only moral people would be able to get married. Over half of all marriages end in divorce. It’s safe to say that it’s us straight people that are ruining the sanctity.
This is about adding hate into a constitution that provides protection for all. It is about separating the state and opening the doorway for legalized abuse. Proposition 8 is about discrimination. If you’re prejudiced, then shame on you. If you are not, then prove it.

i draw the line here. if you want to be gay thats your choice but marriage is only for a man and a woman of any color. i dont care if they want to be lifetime partners but legal marriage is for a man and woman, besides its best for us as a nation to keep our traditional values and still be tolerant of those who choose otherwise
all of you that think “marriage in only for a man and a woman”, do you realise how ignorant you sound? Marriage is about love, it shouldnt matter what sex the two people might be. Like khloe said, the high divorce rate in this country is surely not because of all the homosexual marriages. What do you say to that? Alot of churches don’t even agree with divorce, so the bible arguement should stop right there. End of the day, we should be allowed to choose who we want to marry, regardless of gender. If it has no negative impact on anyone else, why should it matter to anyone else?

our rights should not be based from the bible. not everyone believes in it. everyone in my family knew my brother was gay from an early age. (3 years old) its not like he “chose” to be gay, he didn’t even know what gay was! times are changing and if you can’t accept people for the way they are, or want people to live happy lives than your sick!

It doesn’t have anything to do with hate. I have relatives whom I love that are gay and I attended their wedding on Oct.22 my Birthday and I still voted against it. I told them I was going to vote against it. They can love each other make out wills and other legal documents to protect their investments in the relationship. Apply for domestic partnership for health benefits. I just don’t believe they should be legally married. So what if the schools wont teach it young children will get more and more confused when same sex parents come from everywhere. Dads and Dads, Moms and Moms it will be a mess. I think it will cause chaos in the world especially with the young generations yet to come. God said be fruitful and multiply what becomes of that? I know everyone doesn’t believe in God, but the majority does. Marriage isn’t just a union for sex and love it is also for reproduction. The world may be a mess now just wait and see if gay marriage becomes legal. Just because people have different opinions why are you guys name calling? I have not disrespected anyones opinion in my comment you guys should grow up. We don’t all have to agree but the majority already has agreed.

Khloe, I think you are way off thinking the divorce rate wont be high in Gay marriage. It will be even higher women are emotional in general we are always in love, or think we are. Most of us would be married a few times if it wasn’t for the men being more hesitant and not ever wanting to make the BIG committment. That being said, I have a few female cousins that date my husbands gay cousins and they are so fickled sometimes they are Gay sometimes they aren’t. They would be married and divorced so much it would be pathetic. Do your research before you make those kindof statements. Ypu must don’t have many female gay friends or associates. I know a whole group of them that act like being gay and bisexual was the new fad. They flip and flop in and out of relationships with male and female lovers its ridiculous.
