Giving Back: The Brent Shapiro Foundation

Hey dolls! I love doing charity work! Really, I just love to help people and show that I care. When a charity is close to your heart you should do as much as you can for them. Speaking about causes and charities alone can be so helpful!

I wanted to share one of my favorite charities with you all. It’s the Brent Shapiro Foundation For Alcohol and Drug Awareness. I love this charity for so many reasons, but my main reason is that the organization is so passionate about informing parents and children about these diseases. They have so many different techniques in teaching and they are in the process of creating a program for colleges and high schools too. The foundation wants to help you before there is a problem. This charity was founded by Robert Shapiro, who was a great friend of my father, after his 25-year-old son, Brent, tragically died after an alcohol and drug-induced coma. Here is his story.

Alcohol and drug dependence is an issue that is growing to epidemic proportions. Please check out The Brent Shapiro Foundation website. There is so much important information there. I encourage you to read it and reach out to those in your life who are suffering from the effects of substance abuse. Tragic stories like that of Brent can be prevented! Dont be afraid to save a life! Take care of the ones you love!!

What are some of your favorite chairities? Or things that you guys are passionate about?

You know Brent from what I know was an amazing guy. I actually met Brent through myspace, I had no idea who he was, and honestly didn’t care. At the time we met he was in Virgina and we clicked because we liked the same music, and I wanted him to help me out with a project that I had been working on. He agreed to write for my online magazine and although he invited me out so many times but our schedules conflicted. However, we kept in touch by phone and email. Well I ended up getting locked up for from Aug. – Oct. and when I got out I was watching CNN when I saw Mr. Shapiro on TV talking about the death of his son. At the time I knew Brent’s last name but never put 2 and 2 together. Well once they showed the photos and said the name my heart just dropped. With this said.. I too have fought off many addictions, and understand the importance of learning about these diseases. My mother is a Drug and Alcohol Counselor so this is something that I was brought up around but had to learn on my own. I think Khloe posting this was a great thing and it is important for people in general to seek the knowledge needed before you decide to go out and try things. I also think it is important to support people (charities) that are helping to support you and your peers with information and opportunities. So thumbs up on this on Khloe. Man I should be getting paid to add these comments, I am quite the contributor today.

    Hey Khloe,

I love you. I think you are so fun and funny and I love watching Keeping up with the Kardashians. I am from Sydney, Australia but will be coming to LA and NY next year on a holiday with my husband. What are the chances of meeting you?? That would be like a total dream come true. I know that this is totally random but if you don’t ask you don’t get right??
Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re the bomb!

    Hey Khloe,

The charity that I absolutely love to donate time and money to is the Make a Wish Foundation. But I also give to St. Jude’s Hospital, and to children’s hospitals in Houston (my hometown).

She can think she’s cool all she wants. Her father defended murderers. She lives on BLOOD MONEY. DADDY DOESN’T CARE IF YOU PROSTITUE YOURSELVES BECAUSE HE TAUGHT YOU ALL WELL!

Robert Kardashian was an Armenian-American lawyer who was best known as a friend of O.J. Simpson. In the days following the murders, O.J. Simpson stayed in Kardashian’s house. Kardashian was the man seen carrying Simpson’s garment bag the day Simpson flew back from Chicago. Prosecutors speculated the bag may have contained Simpson’s bloody clothes and/or the murder weapon.

Cocaine dealer William Wasz claimed that he sold cocaine to Kardashian, O.J. Simpson and Nicole Simpson, and that Kardashian gave the drugs to clients. Wasz also said that Kardashian and Simpson were involved in money laundering, prostitution, pornography, sports betting, and point shaving.

I think is very important to think in those who need a hand,I admire Angelina’s cause, and her passion for defend what she believes in, and since my grandma dies becuase of cancer I’m very involve in those kind charities, even more when I knew that my dad has cancer. In this case is very important to know how to deal with someone of our family that is suffering becuase of acohol and drugs, in my own experience my mom was alcoholic and I blame her for too much thins and I couldn’t forget her for others, but now I understand better and I leave all those feellings in the past. Is great that there are people that care about inform families how to deal with this deasease. Good one Khloe!!!

And for Franchine: is so easy to talk about someone that isn’t here to defent himself, and blackmail someone who you didn’t know. You should get a life!!!!!

I think what you do is wonderful, this really touched my heart, oosing a loved one especially your child is the worst nightmare for parents, I have a disability that there is no charity for because what I have is so very rare, I have tried and wrote to so many places, I put my life on so many sites, but I never get any response, if you do not have a sponsor with a big name to help start up a fund then forget it,my disability has been so difficult for me because there is no one in New England or anywhere else with bilateral nerve damage to my feet, therefore the only treatment my Doctor can come up with is to just keep me comfortable, I am on several eds and my pain med is 600mg morphine, yes 600mg most people who are ILL are on 40-60mg, but the pain I live with I just want to die it is unexplainable, I hope to be able to speak to Khloe to find out how I can get a charity sarted for this, we need more information in this world on how to treat patients with severe nerve damage, kindly, janice power
ps I am not diabetic this happened from the hands of a Dr. we found out I never needed the surgery to begin with, therefore my nerves got damaged thru the process.
