I’ve thought about this a lot, and I can only say that our efforts to have a child are not really up to us alone, but to the Creator. He is the one that really decides. Perhaps it isn’t a matter of intent, but of G-d waiting for the right time to grant you a child. Perhaps when things are ideal for you, your caring husband and the life you two are making will Hashem see that the atmosphere is perfect, and a new life will grace you.
