In Support of Iran's Fight for Freedom

Hi dolls.  I was reading through my comments last night and I was incredibly moved by one left by Amy Jam.  Amy reached out to me in an effort to bring a greater awareness to the political drama continuing to unfold in Iran since the June 12th presidential election....particularly since I have close ties there (my father was Armenian).

I can't believe that in 2009, the people of Iran are still having to fight every single day for their religious freedom and basic human rights.  They finally thought they were going to see a real change in their government with Mir-Hossein Mousavi taking office, but they were once again cheated.  It breaks my heart to read the stories and see the pictures of all the violence and brutality the military and the police have been using to shut down the demonstrations by these very brave, primarily young people.

After several  days of unrest, the government has expelled all foreign reporters.....but the word has continued to get out through mediums such as Facebook and Twitter, which they can't possibly control.

Amy said in her comment, "I'm a little person in this big world but I figured I would try to reach out to those who'd listen."  If we all had that same mentality, we could accomplish great things.  There's nothing greater than the power of people communicating, particularly when they are motivated by a truly just cause.

President Obama addressed the matter in a press conference on Tuesday which you can watch in the video above.

For a closer look at what's happening in Iran, go to the Iran Election 2009 YouTube channel or follow the Iran Election Twitter feed.

It is real sad. The people of Iran are suffering, I also watched a show th other day which talked about the documentary, "Pray the Devil Back to Hell" women of Liberia who were protesting for peace. I will keep all those who struggle for peace in my prayers!

Khloe, thank you so much for speaking up.

I was anxious to see if anyone in your family [namely you and/or your sisters] would say anything regarding this issue.

Once again you have proven that you are the sister with any ounce or morality or care for something other than herself.

And I mean that in no offensive way, I adore you Kourtney and Kim; beautiful intelligent business women who I admire truly.

But again thank you for your voice.

I am Iranian full blooded and terrified by the vile disgusting savagery taking place in my birth country.

I pray the islamic regime is dissipated and the mullahs are blown up out of their seats in government once and for all.

Please continue to speak up about this issue.

God bless you infinitely!

khloe !

I WISH I WAS ONE OF THE KARDASHIANS

Thank you SO much Khloe! You are such a REAL and tremendously generous person for posting your support for the people of Iran and their fight for freedom. It really gave me goosebumps that you read my post and heard me out! It gives me hope that if my voice can be heard all the way to you in sunny Miami, then there is power in voiceing support to those struggling for their basic human rights. God Bless you and your family for all the good that you do and are doing.

Hopefully Iran will reach a state of freedom and prosperity for the people so that everyone who hasn't seen can visit and see the beautiful culture that we come from! I can't say thank you enough, you have made my day! I will keep you guys in my prayers and wish you all the best!

-Amy Jam

hey khlo i just wanted to stay that your post is such a lovely thing to do for the people of Iran as I too was horified at that youtube post of that woman bleeding to death at one of the protests and I have promised myself that I am gonna get more involved in charities and campaigns that supports human rights worlwide...it is very important when we see a gap or something bad going on we stand up and unite together and fight!!! I have been on your sister kim's website and have seen many of her fans begging her to lend her support also to the people of Iran...I don't know if she is aware of that or not but please if you can let her know...this shows not only are you physically beautiful you are such a lovely person on the inside too...God bless khlobo ;)

Once again, you never cease to amaze me. I knew you had it in you, but it's obvious you are more conscious than people give you credit for. Be it a fan made you aware or you were well aware, you have the support of millions. We all just can't eat , drink and be merry while others suffer, we have to take a stand on something. What ever charge you lead, I'll follow, and I'm sure others will too. When you are bad, you're good, and when you are good you're even better. I have once called you 2009's baddest bitch, but you are way more than that.....

Luv ya sweetie :)

I am Persian as well and so glad that you had the SENSE to bring the awareness to your blog! Good Job PAM! =)

Great to see you use your blog for multiple uses...sometimes for fun and sometimes for serious matters such as this! You are awesome and why I love you the most out of all your sisters!

Khole! You are truly amazing and I want to thank you for your support and acknowldgement of the struggle in Iran. It means alot for you to have post this on your blog. I've never commented on your post before, but I had to make sure that I thank you for this post.

You are beautiful inside and out!

**Sara**

Thank You Khloe!

Thank you thank you THANK YOU for writing about this. It really does mean the world to me. Being half Persian myself it breaks my heart to turn on the television and see the horrible violence that is currently taking place where my family resides. I am currently wearing a green wrist band to show my support to the people of Iran. By writing this you are helping get the word out and helping these brave citizens have their voices heard.

Once again, thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

Khloe...thank you for that. From my fellow Iranians to you...we appreciate the support.
xoxo

Hi Khloe,
Thank you so much for speaking out. I am a Persian .Here people have no idea what does this look like not to have Freedom, I left Iran a little more than a year ago and I know that with every single cell of my body.
It is so sweet of you thinking about it. Please keep using your tribune for helping Iranians. You are my favorite Kardashian.

Thank you so much Khloe! i was waiting to see if your family would comment on this, since you guys have Armenian backgrounds.

most of my family is in iran
its horrible how the government is taking the freedom that they deserve from them!

god blesss, khlo!(:

Khloe,
you have a really good head on your shoulders! a lot of people don't know that! ur an inspiration <3

Allison

Hi Babydoll! Im American and family/friends in the middle east (especially iran). Its a shame that the iranians are still living with this discrimination in this day and age. Khloe, we all should join forces to STOP this insanity; like write a petition or record our voices so people could understand the enhumanity that all iranians go thru. I too am a descent from the middle east; my great grandmother was from armenia; funny I just found out. Well, I think we all should grow up and start treating each other with respect no matter where we are from. The iranian government should grow up and act like adults, we all are humans and bleed the same color "RED" we should really try to do something. Im game with any suggestions Khloe.
If any of u guys have a suggestion or idea that u could share, so WE ALL COULD HELP THE IRAIAN PEOPLE OUT! E-mail me @grandagina2000@yahoo.com thanx Dash doll for Always speaking for what u always believe it. We all are God's children and we all deserve respect, freedom, and security from our government. So LET UR VOICES BE HEARD AND DONT EVER B AFRAID TO SPEAK YOUR MIND.
God Bless all of u and Khloe stay sweet, in addition; u have a beautiful, caring, big heart and dont ever listen to haters. XOXO

Khloe,

Thank you once again for helping be the voice to so many people. I have so much respect for you and how you bring these topics up to our attention, I love that you are willing to throw it all out there even if it means people slamming you. You an amazing smart beautiful lady and we need so many more people like you to be a voice. Thank you Khloe for being you.

Hi Khloe,
I want to personally thank you for bringing some attention to what is going on in Iran. I am Iranian-American and I have family in Iran who are just plain suffering because of the regime. They give no rights to women. Women there are not given a chance to work. Many women there are suffering from depression and sometimes the stress in inbearable for them and it is common for both women and men to die from stress. My cousin just passed away 2 months ago due to extreme stress. The young have no future. The young men cannot even get married because where are the jobs to support their future family? They just cannot do it! The mullah's are running the show there but are also comitting crimes by raping women and they get away with it. There is no justice for things that go wrong. Just two days ago the police was beating a 7 year old on the street while he was holding his mom's hand just to punish the parents for being outside. Is this right??? NO!!! I am so upset about this situation. On Friday (tomorrow) at 1pm we are all getting green baloons and letting it go to show our support. Please continue to bring attention to this since you can make it happen. We also need people who are not iranian to be involved. It would make such a big difference. Please send me an e-mail to let me know what kinds of attention you can bring to raise awareness and I will forward the news on to my friends and family who will pass it on. Thank you so much!!!
-Melody

Terrible, terrible injustices are happening to human beings around the world. I can't believe what is happening in Iran, I wish the country to resolve its issues and allow their citizens to live a happy and safe life.

Khloe, well done on posting concern about this issue, especially since you're Armenian and there are thousands of Christian-Armenians that live in Iran fighting for their struggles too.

May God Bless Iran and its people!

Hi Khloe!
Thank you sooooooo much for supporting the Iranians! I'm Iranian myself, and its been so hard to see these horrific pictures and videos that the gov't of Iran is doing to the innocent people that only want freedom! Plz Plz Plz continue to support us, and pray!

Thanks again sweetie!!!! <333

Hi Khloe, I too want to say how great it is that you wrote a post about this supporting the people of Iran. Im Persian but have lived in North America for most of my life although I was born there. I've visited many times and went there last year and stayed for a few months. So I kind of want to make a comment about the comment that Melody Amir wrote. Although many of the things she said are true, especially about people having alot of stress, the thing that she said about women not being able to work was wrong. Women make up over 60% of University students, and they are able to work pretty much anywhere they want. Although working in the government isn't very common for women, that's one of the very few places its not seen for them to be working at. But other than that they are able to work many places. Im just pointing that out because I love my country dearly and we are a very strong and well educated country. The women's rights are not very liberal but they aren't as radical as it may seem either. I myself protest to alot of what they implement on women but the women are extremely strong, and even with wearing the hijab and body cover they rebel with it in their own way as you can probably see in pictures. Anyways thats all I really wanted to say, your amazing again for saying something about this. <3

Okay i am so very shocked that you would actually blog about this situation, because previously when I checked out kimberleys page, I did see a user who constantly kept bringing up the issues with Irans "drama". I actually thought it would of been your older sister who might of mentioned the topic in her blog, because its a huge issue. but apparently apparal, jewlery, and ripped jeans seems to be the more important topic that she dearly speaks about. not like thats a bad thing, b/c i love her style! but once in a while, it is good to address some issues. especially when you have a blog, and you can reach out to your fans and hear voices that wants/needs to be herd. anyways, I admire you because you are a strong person. Im not gonna lie, i dont really have the time to watch your show, but when i do, i usually get good kicks from you! you deff made the show! a long with kourtney. but anyways, enough of me rambling! All i have to say is thank you for addressing this issue :) b/c you did so, it deff made me realize how much of a great person you are. and i usually never comment blogs. and this is the first.

take care

Of course as a modernized Iranian here in the US, I have sympathy towards the Iranians over there because their economy is going to suffer more as well as other issues.

-The Iranians are not only upset with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad win because he will raise the cost of their food and not give a damn about the economy, but also they do not support nuclear warfare. They are not supportive that once again their country is in the limelight as being a terrorist threat to the UN,US and the West.

-The fact that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is still President raises one biggest concern over what I mentioned above:

He is wanting to continue nuclear enrichment which he claims the nuclear program is to benefit electricity generation. No one is buying this. I truly believe this is BS. I truly believe this is why he does not want US, UN, and the West interfering in Iranian matters.

He doesn't want US to interfere. Meaning, President Obama. Iran's problem with the protesters is their problem. If it were other matters, it would be different.

-It is not surprising protesters are getting banged up and killed. They come from a long line of aggressive, intimidating leaders who teach them violence. This is nothing new. They should not be disrespectful to the current President by trying to change what has been done. Iran's higher officials will not do a recount. This is Iran, not US. What the higher officials there say... goes. Whether we like it or not.

-The man that got defeated-Mir-Hossein Mousavi-got defeated for one big reason over all:

He was too liberal.

He was from Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi Regime as Prime Minister and Reza Shah wanted Iran to be too liberal. A lot of Iranians today still do not want that kind of liberalism. Although it is possible the election was rigged. I wouldn't put anything past Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Iran is a beautiful, mountainous country. I am proud to have been born there. They have come a long way. Men and Women are now allowed to hold hands without being put on trial. Ever since Googoosh, there have been a lot more musicians. When Googoosh was at the top of her game in early 60's & 70's Iran and they could not find other Iranians to act, sing, and dance, they went to Armenia and got women there who could be of assistance. They are well known for their continuous efforts revive the golden age of Persian science. Their cuisine is very diverse. Their soccer team is quite good as well.

Just because the Iranian Government does things we may not like, does not mean they are ALL bad people.

Leah

I truly appreciate this post. I left a comment asking you if you could bring this up as well and someone just bitched at me for that.. so yeah. It's really nice for you to do this and as someone else said, one person can make a difference, spread the word. They just really need prayers. Thank you girl!

Well said, Khloe. I have no doubt that Kim and Kourtney will give their $0.02 on the situation soon.
-E

@Trisha - Kim is not the "older" sister, Kourtney is the older sister.

Thanks again Khloe! Today I saw that Kim had a posting on her blog as well. Thanks for spreading the word and getting others involved as well. It means so much and gives hope that all of these losses will result in awareness and ultimately a change for the people.

Have a very Happy Birthday Khloe joon! Thousands will be protesting tomorrow (again) in DC and I will be proud to mention that you have generously given your support as well. Thanks again and God Bless!

Khloe, while I appreciate your opinion, I beg to differ with your views. Your ignorance is telling that you choose to conclude, without any evidence, that the people of Iran were "cheated." 39 million voters, about 200,000 protest, and they're cheated eh. What happened to the majority? While I do not want to turn this blog into a political forum, your comments called for it.

Khloe, I am one of your biggest fans. I live in Beverly Hills and I am a Persian-Jew (how ironic) I am so touched that you and your sisters took time out of your day to write about this issue on your blogs. I was curious if you would, since you are Armenian. Thank you so much for your support, it really is appreciated. I read your blog every single day, and check it at least 3 times a day-- this makes me like you guys so much more (if thats even possible)

xo

Khloe Im an Iranian American and am very happy that you posted this. We need more people's awareness on this issue and thanks for the support. Iranian people have took the streets for the first time after thirty years to fight for their freedom. They are using peaceful means to do so, but are getting shot and killed and tortured everyday by the military there because of the backwards regime. The violence NEEDS to STOP. They NEED justice and freedom. Something needs to happen. The poor young Iranians need the support and help to make change.
Whats going on there is ridiculous! The videos are shocking. The brutality has gone beyond its limits. I mean who kills a young innocent girl in the hands of her OWN FATHER who had to watch her die?? Who shoots a PREGNANT lady through the stomach?! Something needs to happen. These poor people need justice. They are too smart to be cheated out of their votes and too fed up to continue to live under this corrupt regime. The government there is enforcing more military members and police to take the streets and to continue the violence and brutality to the poor people of Iranian who only want JUSTICE and FREEDOM!! We need to help them or they will all be wiped out and killed with the more and brutal military people taking charge. We need to reach out and help to bring change to these people for a better outcome once and for all!!!

Oh god.. just ignore the haters. Your opinion isn't ignorant as a few have mentioned and you are right about having close ties. The ones who claim you don't are the ignorant ones actually.
Anyways, have a fun birthday take care of yourself lol

Thanks for the support, this is a great vid to WATCH:) Beat me,hate me You can never break me,Will me, thrill me You can never kill me,Beat me, bash me You can never trash me, Hit me, kick me You can never get me! Iran Election Protest Anthem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtKshycrCrs

i'm really sorry khloe but you guys are so naive... you are being fooled by your own media as they are letting you watch and believe what they want you to believe. you wanna talk about discrimination, human rights...etc? how about millions and millions of people dying in Gaza every day and in south lebanon on year 2006 and was all supported by your country to Israeli regime? did you know about it? ... how about you google it or you tube it and see for your self how your government is massacring the innocent people in Iraq? and their future plans to divide and conquer IRAN... why is Iran not allowed to have nuclear weapons while Israel can? talk about justice. that's enough information for you now.

hey khloe !! you are so sweet , thanks for changing your pic to green to support iranian people , i am iranian too and we really need all the world to support us !!:(

hello dear Khloe.....I am a huge fan of the whole family, love you girls a lot and am proud of you all for having kept your Armenian surnames, instead of changing it to fit the hollywood baazar!

thanks a buch for your support........

janina - Iranian born Armenian Fan of the Kardashians,,,,,,,

Khloe, thank you so much for speaking up against the brutality in Iran and bringing light to this matter. Your words speak volumes about your character and intelligence.
For those of you who don't understand what Khloe means when she said she has close ties to Iran, Armenia has been a part of the Persian empire throughout history and before the Islamic Revolution in '79 there were many Armenian-Iranians in Iran, thousands still today.
To "engshaima" Armenians and Iranians are very closely related, as Khloe herself stated, unlike Palestine and Lebanon which are a different matter all toghether. While I'm sure Khloe cares about all the other injustices and sufferings of the world, this is one that is closer to her heart.
Thanks again Khloe!

Thank you so much Khloe for bringing awareness to this issue! The people of Iran have been suffering under this regime for so many years now! WE NEED A REGIME CHANGE!! Khamenei ,needs to go ,all of the "presidents" or candidates are his (Khameneis) puppets! We have seen khatami and the rest promising the iranian people more freedom, after awhile they show their true colors and show that they all are terrorists! Moussavi is no different, if he was Khamanei would never ever let him run for president, and he would take him down so fast that the rest of the world wouldnt hear about him! PEOPLE OF IRAN AND THE WORLD ,WAKE UP, PLEASE HELP US GET A REGIME CHANGE!! IRAN IS BLEEDING!AZADI AZADI AZADI!!!

Thanx again Khloe

btw Azadi means freedom in case you wondered!=)

Love you

T

PrincessT and others.. stop whining you people. what kind of freedom you are looking for ? you have the strongest people, Khamenae and Ahmadi nejad stood like men and refused any interfering in their internal affairs while other countries became the united states puppets..you have the best technologies inventions in the region.. you have advanced weapons, manufactured your own car and launched your own satellite and the most important thing that you are one of a very few countries which are SELF sufficient. do you realize how strong that makes you?
the states have been putting Iran under pressure for many many years and yet they are strong as a rock so stop whining and be proud of you country

To engshaima :

Cant belive you are focusing on weapons and technology when people have been suffering under this regime for so long, people have been stoned, hanged and tortured ,if you think advanced weapons and technology etc are more important than peoples lives then i dont know what i can say to you ... The people of Iran wants freedom, they dont want advanced weapons! They want to be able to say what they want, do what they want, wear what they want! So please dont tell us others to stop whining , maybe you should open your eyes a bit and see further than the advanced weapons.. see how the people have been suffering!

PrincessT what are you talking about? i have never seen such a thing in Iran like people hanged or stoned or whatever ....and if it happened well maybe it happened for a reason .. maybe they created a riot or have been violating some rules.. do you think that any other country will accept the fact that people go in the streets and make such a vandalism?. any other country would treat protesters the same way ... search in the history of the united states for example n you'll find many many similar cases.
i've seen people in Iran living like no other .. practicing their life and going to the beach .. going skiing, having wonderful time partying. i never saw the stuff you have talked about. that 2 inch scarf you wear in Iran is not gonna prevent you from having your freedom.. at the end you live in a Muslim country so either respect that or leave to another country. freedom is what Khamanaee gave you not to wear mini skirt and hot shorts.

watch brave heart and you will know what does it mean to be FREEEE

Engshaima... i know what im talking about.. you can ask other Iranians and they will also tell you .. Khamanaee did NOT give us freedom! He took it away from us! People get hanged ,stoned and tortured there, and its not because of the riots, its been like that since Khomeini came , If someone break their rules ,they do whatever they like to them , and they have no mercy. I know people who have been tortured and killed for speaking their minds against the regime! I do not know where you get your info from Engshaima, but in my pont of view its totally wrong! My friends have been attacked by the police down there just for wearing too much makeup , how can you call that freedom? How can you call it freedom when people are not allowed to have parties, listen to happy songs? How can you call it freedom when its not even legal to send games ,music etc to Iran? People do NOT have freedom to speak their minds, they do not have freedom to do what they want! If they want to have a party down there they have to do it on the low low so they dont get caught! HOW IS THAT HAVING FREEDOM?? Its not about parties or going skiing etc,its about being able to live in a democratic country where you do not have to be scared when you go outside your house! Do you know how many young iranians have become drug addicts in Iran? They are killing our young ones, they do it on purpose to shut them up , so they wont stand up for themselves! Engshaima, i have lots of family in Iran , i have friends who lost their families to the regime, i know what im talking about. If you search the web im sure you will find some info about the way things are down there, and the way things have been for 30 years now! Iranians deserve freedom and justice ,and they will never have it with the Mullah regime! Khamanaee is the biggest terrorist of all!
