However, I hope you take the responsibility upon yourself to get educated on the subject of seal hunting before you jump on the bandwagon. Those seals with white fur? Those are pups and it actually is not legal to hunt them in the first place. Individuals like Nigel Barker and interest groups alike present inaccurate and often false conceptions of seal hunting. If you think reading the facts available on the government of Canada's site is too biased, I suggest you find some reputable sources that aren't from radical groups like peta (et al)...

Thanks for spreading the message about harp seal protection.

What you may not know is that there are seals facing a battle even closer to home.

La Jolla (San Diego) is home to the only harbor seal birthing spot (rookery) south of Santa Barbara. 200 seals have made a home on a tiny beach called Casa Beach for hundreds of years but people continuously harass them and are trying to get the seals removed so they can dredge the beach and have it be for exclusive human use.

This baffles us here in San Diego, given that we have miles and miles of beach, but somehow the seals can't have this ONE tiny beach.
Here is an outrageous video showing the harassment these poor seals have faced EVERY DAY for years.

Now a court judge has ordered them to be dispersed on June 15 despite the fact that 90% of La Jolla residents want them to stay.

The ray of hope here is that there is a bill in the works (in the Assembly this Monday!), that if approved by our governor, may help pave the way for this beach to become a marine reserve.

Public support is so important. If this cause speaks to you, please help give these seals a voice.

Hi Khloe - I am glad to see that you are taking a stand on animal rights. I was watching Keeping Up tonight and was distressed to see that you and your sisters were considering renting a chimp for your mother. I suspect that you simply don't know what you are contributing to by doing this. Firstly, Chimps are powerful animals that do not make good pets. Secondly, a lot of these animals are being bought and sold on the black market, many of them are snared in the wild and forced into this kind of slavery. They may post cute pics of them but in reality these people few them as a commodity and they are kept in cages most of the time. Many of their parents are murdered in the wild so people can steal the babies and sell them on the black market and ultimately they can end up on websites like the one you were visiting. I hope that you research this issue and maybe even speak about on your show and tell people not to participate in this type of activity. Ultimately you and your sisters were inadvertantly doing free advertising for these people and also contributing to the continuation of these animals being abused, killed, taken out of the wild and put into situations with people who are not qualified to handle such an animal and the chimp is always the one who will suffer and who will pay with their lives if they hurt someone. Thank you for your time and continue you service to animals.
