Beyond Disappointed with Today's Prop 8 Outcome

This does bother me. I live in a Republican State and it ain't happening here,honey.

I know this is a setback. It all started in 1977 in CA. Dan White sucks. This is primarily his fault. If he had sided with Milk, there would have been a different outcome.

While we cannot change the decision for this moment, at least there are open-minded people who allow Gays and Lesbians to marry in their State. It may not be California, but it is better than nothing.

This may not be the response you want. I know the Gay and Lesbian Society will not give up until Prop 8 is overcome.

I totally agree with you and I am equally upset. My brother is gay and I want him to be able to live a full life, just like me. There is not one person that should feel that they have the right to control someone else's life simply because they don't agree with their lifestyle. Not only is this a terrible outcome and a restriction of rights guaranteed by the constitution, but extremely ironic. How does a place with the highest population of gays in the world shoot down their right to marry.

I feel the same way. I think that they should be able to get married, its sad that our country is said to be a "free country", but whats freedom if you can't marry the one that you love?!??! I think this is terrible, honestly don't politicians have more important things to worry about then if two people of the same sex want to get married. I can't believe it is even an issue, every man and woman should have equal rights no matter who they love, I would feel terrible if their would have been a law that I couldn't have married my husband...why should the government limit anybody to who they can marry. I think it is time they start worrying about more important things then if two men or two woman want to marry each other.

Yo, I do have lots of gay friends who I adore and Love. I also have friends and ppl who r smokers - but that doesnt mean I keep supporting them to smoke - why not? Simple, smoking is bad for themselves, for the people surrounding the smokers.

When America was first created it was built on conservative issues and ideas. Over the years American's have become greedy and indulgant. I mean really, do we need same sex marriages?? The hetero's don't even want to be married to each other. I beleive that we should be living our lives in the ways that are still conservative. That means leaving gay issues behind closed doors. TV shows teach our children that it's okay. It's NOT okay to be with the same sex. It's just not.. You can get mad at me, email me, buy voodoo dolls and name them after me, but the fact still remains that it's immoral! As far as the constitution goes. It's says no where in the Constitution that men should marry men and women should marry women. Our rights withint he constitution were based on the things that were really important. I agree with you Khloe. I don't believe anyone has the right to tell anybody else who they are allowed to be with or marry. Homosexuality is against my religion. But we also believe that you should not impose and harass others for those who are gay, the reason for this is that it creates bigger problems than when it began. Also just because my religion believes something, doesn't mean everyone will follow it. So we should at least try to accept each other for who we are.
What really bothers me about this is that right now it's same sex marriage, what's next?? One of the many things America is known for is Diversity and Freedom. I know alot of gay people as well, some of the nicest people I know, and although I do not agree with it, or find it morally right, or see how a female can find another female, or a male can find another male attractive, and I find it to be rather disgusting. That is simply my opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and are also allowed to state their opinion. With the marriage I say if they want to be together and truly love one another, why should they not be allowed to make that love offical just as everyone else, everyone deserves happiness, and love is love no matter who you love, you cannot change it. So, let them get married and live happy lives.

How do you and your partner have a son? Which one of you is not biologically the parent? What does marriage have to do with anything about you feeling like other girls? Other girls that have a son had that son by creating it with a man. Now you have a son that has to grow up with two moms and no dad. You have your opinion and I have mine. In my opinion it is wrong to bring up a child in a situation where it has no father or where two men are raising the child and it has no mother. Everything goes in our society now and it doesn't mean that it is okay or right.

I do agree with most ppl on here when they say that being gay isn't the life style god gave us to have because I am a very firm believer in god and on the bible but it also tell us not to judge others.. Too many people were misled about the bill. I know that in the entire sacramento valley (folsom, elk grove, natomas, etc) they were all lead to believe that if this bill didn't pass, then their children would be learning about gay marriage and gay sex in their schools! So, they voted for prop 8 whether they were for or against gay marriage just for that reason. That is what they were using in commercials etc to get people to vote on it. How ridiculous! Now everyone's life is changed because of it. I think Khloe would be a great person to let people know about all the misleading information and why people voted the way they did!

Gay's should have their rights but not by marriage. Marriage is between man and woman. There should be a legal Domestic Partnership where gays can recieve equal rights. I just don't believe that it should be called marriage.

the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin. read the story about sodom and gommorah. those cities were destroyed by God because of homosexuality and sexual immorality, all forms of sexual immorality, the only sexual conduct approved by God is the union of a man and a woman (married) homosexuality is against the law of nature that God set up. the word sodomy comes from the city sodom, that God destoyed because of their sexual immorality. think about it the only way two men can have sex is through anal sex, and the only way two women can have sex is through oral sex or using a fake penis. as far as having children thrown into the mix, it's gross enough to walk in your parents having sex, but for a innocent child to walk in on two males or two females having sex can be devastating to a young innocent mind. I am surprised by all the negative comments on this. I guess i shouldn't be though. I am not gay, nor do i know many gay people, but i don't have a problem with people who are gay. I am a strong Christian, and my faith is what gets me through everything i do. So many people criticize me for not being against gay marriage.. but. The way i see it, as Christians we are taught not to judge others, and although it is human nature to do so, we should strive to be better. Whether or not being homosexual is immoral is irrelevant, its not anyone's place to judge the choices or lifestyles of our fellow human beings. I am fifteen and i'm straight,however, in hearing this news upsets me very much!
I come from a republican family and although i am not christian, what i do not understand is that if God loves everyone for who they are and the good deeds that you achieve, why can't he accept those who "he himself created"? Isn't all mankind created by God (or who ever it is that you praise)?
This is just another act of one person's morals and beliefs; what gives them the right to order us around? tiffany- yes i know what the Bible says, its wrong. i am not accusing everyone of judging gays (im sorry if it seemed that way) just the people that were judging them. I was so happy to read this post of yours! It's hard for me to understand people who cant see the harm they are doing by being so closed minded. I sometimes wonder what these folks would say to their own kids if they were gay?! I think they would think twice about discriminating against their own kids. I truly believe that soon (as long as we keep educating those who keep discriminating) we will finally see justice for all.

Seriously, if you are going to bring the constituition into this, maybe you should do your homework. Our Constituition was model after the 10 commandments and based on the principals in the Bible. The same book that Obama placed his hand on to be sworn into office. Hummm, I wonder why people swear on the Bible. Then there's are pledge, you know "One Nation Under God" and all that.
