This past Saturday my mom and I went down to Cal State Fullerton to help bring awareness to the Donate Life Run/Walk. Just recently I became an organ donor and I am sooo happy I did. It is so easy to sign up too!!! You can either go to the DMV and check the box or you can do it online at DonateLifeCalifornia.org.
For every one person that signs up to be a donor, eight lives can be saved with the donation of their organs and 50 can be helped with the donation of tissue.
At the Run/Walk I met and spoke to so many amazing, brave people who were either recipients of a transplant or were donors. This really inspired me to reach out to more people and try to recruit donors! Please become an organ donor or at least go to the website and find out a little more about it!

THANK YOU so much for posting a blog on this topic. I too, just became an organ donor last year. My best friend received a double lung/pancreas transplant in 2006 from having Cystic Fibrosis. Although he did pass a way last year (it'll be a year on Thursday :(), he did get to live almost two years longer with his new lungs. If he would not have received them, he would have passed a lot sooner. He got a blood infection that took his life. Organ donation is soooo important.

I just wanted to share that I think it's so amazing that you took time out of your busy schedule to do this. My dad died suddenly of a heart attack about 3 weeks ago, he was only 59. This situation is absolutely heartbreaking and miserable, but he was an organ donor and the donor center called and told me his organs were able to help 50+ other people and thinking about that helps bring a little light to such a tragic loss. You are an incredible person!!!

I could really relate to last night's episode I recentley went to the doctor and had a mole removed and now it turns out I have to go back and get more of it removed because they just scrapped it , it's scary thing it made me feel good that you too have had that done.
and it was cool you had kim with you. I am nervous to go back but it shows you have to go and get your skin checked it's so important!! Great job with the walk!! I did a walk for hunger last year 20 mile walk and it was so inspiring!

Hi khloe! Well i was at the donate a life run/walk on saturday and i just wanna thank you for bringing it to everyones attention how important it is to become a donor. I know this because i recieved a kidney transplant on Sept18th,2008 unfortuneately it was a direct donation from my 16 yr old cousin who was injured playing high school football.He had a brain injury and they decided to donate and because of there donation about 15 people were given a second chance at life...so thanks for adding that pink dot it does make a difference! I think you are beautiful and it was awesome to see you and your mom that was soo cool keep up the grear work!!!

I was like this girl isn't fat, because I saw the episode where you did I'd rather go naked than wear fur and how you thought you were fat, and you are not!! I did the walk and I have been wanting to become an donor especially after hearing the many stories of the people there and the story of my friend's uncle who passed away and now their family is in communication with the man and his family who recieved a transplant from my friends uncle!! It was good to see you and your mom there making an appearance and to see that you have become a donor I will be too soon!! :)

I am glad you were at the run/walk. I heard about you guys being there from my sister. Her son died last year and she decided to donate his organs. It's nice knowing you guys were there. A lot of celebrities, could give a damn about these kinds of events. It's a beutiful feeling being a donor, and also the family of one. We received a letter from a recipient and it was like no other feeling. People should be aware of this organization and the cause.
