Today, January 20, 2009, is a momentous day for our country. Just
moments ago, Barack Obama became the first black president to be sworn
into office and from this point on I, along with
millions of others, anticipate some major positive changes to occur in
our country.
Being old enough to understand what happened during the Bush administration and watching firsthand as our country took such a downward spiral, and now being able to actually live through such a significant change is something I never thought I would experience. I have high hopes for President Obama and not once have I doubted his ability to turn this country around.
The changes that will come will take time, but slowly our economy and our country will go through a major transformation to reach the levels of success that the American people once took so much pride in.
Whomever you voted for, whatever your beliefs are, there is no denying that the inauguration today is a monumental piece of history that we are all fortunate enough to live through. I hope you all are taking advantage of this day and watched as our 44th president was sworn into office.
Yay for Obama!!!!

Hi Khloe,
I think you are great person & I adore your family & I respect your opinion. I hope Obama does well for this country & I stand behind him since he is the new president. People should not be so quick to fault & point fingers at former President Bush. Bush did a great job keeping this country safe & the economy is not entirely his fault as the Democrats caused the mortgage meltdown from policies from Clinton administration. Bush is a patriot & a good man. Let us all tip our hats to the man who has been president for the past 8 yrs.
YAY Obama is officially the president of the United States!!Iam only 16 yrs. old and I didnt get to vote but I will get to vote for him in 4 more years!!
I AM INTO IT NOW SWEETCAKES NOW THERE EATING.
Well said Khloe. Today is going to be a day that I remember for the rest of my life, as I know you all will too. It's amazing to think we have come so far! I'm proud to be an American, and I know Obama is going to make us proud as well.
Like you said, it doesn't matter who you voted for, because today is a monumental day regardless. Hopefully we can all come together for the sake of our country, and get past our differences.
xoxo
BARACK OBAMA!!I thought his speech was great! he commanded attention and made everyone hopeful for the future. barack was definetly the right choice for america right now!! Aretha was pretty bad in my opinion. I could barely understand a word she said.I thought the bow was cute tho. my dad who grew up with motown and her music was excited to hear her and was honestly disappionted. She held out every word on such a note that the song was unidentifable! The poem lady was okay, really slow tho. the guy at the end who was a major part of the civil rights movement was pretty good, and funny at times. whatever the case it was history in the making and i was glad to see it!!!!
i would have loved to see diddy's reaction to this afternoon's events!! can you believe for five minutes Joe Biden was our president!! I was glad when that was over.
SHUT UP KHLOE YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKIN ABOUT. THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION?
first AFRICAN AMERICAN..
Right on khloe. I'm so proud of obama & will be supporting him all the way. I hope u do the same too & u and ur sisters become better people & more humble(especially kim). When obama got elected on nov.4th 2008, i turned 21 that smame day too. It was the best b-day ever in my whole 21 years of life :) Khloe i love ya & wish u all da best for 2009. Stay sweet & don't change for the worst.
I dont understand why everyone is calling him the first black president because hes not just black hes white too,hes mixed race. Why cant he be proud of being half black and half white.I dont understand is he ashamed of being half white? He should be proud of being both! Theres so many mixed race kids out there who grow up finding it hard to relate to white people or black people feeling they never fit in anywhere.Obama ignoring the fact is sending out a message of either he is ashamed or doesnt acknowledge his white side.I mean weve made history today a, man thats president that would be a incredible role model for black white and mixed children all children of all races but yet he doesnt nor does the public aknowledge the fact that he is not just black hes mixed. And dont get me wrong his race doesnt matter but thats my point if it doesnt matter to him they why wont he proudly say what hes is? How can americans ever overcome racism when are president isnt even proud of both sides of his own race? Just saying im black sends a message to lots of people i know that hes ashamed or doesnt acknowledge the white side of himself aswell.I know most of you will most likely disagree but me my friends and my family are very disapointed that he nor the public proudly say hes both, were mixed race an find it hurtful an insulting. But im looking forward to seeing what hes going to bring as president:)
Hey Khloe!!
So ive been watching all the Inaugural festivities today and it is all just so overwhelming to me. I mean it is SO AMAZING to see a dream that so many fought and even died for become a reality. And i cant believe that I am actually witnessing it firsthand right now.
I just listened to your message, and I wanted to leave you a message as well, but watching the motorcade and listening to what you were saying in your message I got SO emotional. Like I just connected and related so much to what you were saying. I didnt want to leave a message like a blubbering idiot. lol. so I figured Id just share my thoughts with you via your blog.
I love you Khloe!! Omg seriously you are def such an inspiration to me.
Talk to you later love, All the best and YAAY OBAMA!!!
XO Alyssa
Hi Khloe yes I am very Happy to day.I Voted for Barack Obama.I am Dam hes going to be an awesome president. It touched me with happiness and joy today. How America is in for a great place.Love ya Khloe bye
@ Why...
I believe Barack does an excellent job at portraying both sides of his heritage. I don't recall him ever denying or not acknowledging the fact that he is half white and half black. I believe it is the media that focuses more on one side than the other. However, when a child is born he takes the Father's heritage just as well as a child takes their father's last name. So it is correct in saying that he is the first Black President. My Great Grandmother is white (blond hair, blue eyes) but her husband is black, so our family is Black although majority of the family has blue/green/ and light brown eyes. It doesn't matter how you look, in some way i believe we are all of mixed races. One Love!
HE IS SO SEXY!!
Why-let me break it down to you because it seems that someone misunderstand, Barack is mixed race(just like myself) BUT he identifies with the black community, that doesnt take away from his white side. His wife is black, his children are black..& they will be the first black occupants of the white house. It's not about color or race...the man is for mankind so let him shine ;) However he is the 1st black president! I am not ashamed of my puerto side but I call myself black because that is how the WORLD views me.
Khloe yes I watched, I cried and loved every minute. I cant wait to see what our first lady wears to the balls tonight!! What a day ;)
keep in mind that for the last two years The House of Representatives and Senate has been controlled by democrats. I hope the best for President Obama and am not blaming anything on him or anyone else. I think it is time for a change but am respectful to George W. Bush for keeping me safe and for all the amazing soldiers who are doing this as well.
Khloe - I watched and I was so over come with emotion. Barack Obama has alot of work ahead of him and I look forward to seeing the changes that will come under his leadership.
Hey Khloe!
Thanks for posting this blog....isn't one of the greatest things to ever happen to this country?? I'm proud to be an American Citizen and I bet other countries are watching what's happening here and they, too, are proud of America.
I can;t believe that slavery used to exist along with segregation but thank God those days are now in the past!

Yes Im young but i never thought I would see this day ever happening.Racistism is still alive.I have family in MISSISSIPPI and there are still KKK out there. The one thing that Obama said that me going WOW,Is when he said "Today is a new day get up in dust your shoulders off".My ancesters fought for freedom. Now we have we have a african american president.People always tried to put black people down,But never could.Obama will achieve everything he has planned to get done.

Love you Khloe glad u was down for Obama hun!
Cuz I heard your family wasnt..
I'm glad you posted this. I hate it when celebs don't want to get political..so it's good to hear you voice your opinion and your pride. Thanks for the post. xoxo
no words can explain how happy i am our country has been through alot...
To Why,
I can see the point you are making sweetie, but Obama has never denied his white heritage. It's just that his black heritage has to take precedence over this, his ancestors like many other African Americans had to overcome and go through one of the most horrific times in history. To see a man who is even part African American achieve a presidency after coming from a race that even only fifty years ago weren't seen as equals, is something huge to celebrate! It shows progress and hopefully means the world is moving closer to casting out racism and prejudice of any form.
Peace and love xx
Khloe can i ask you a question? now this has nothing to do with the comments on this post but on the comments on all your other posts.... Why are your and kims fans mostly ignorant people? does that say to you that youre only famous because you have a lot of stupid people out there? i think you personally are intelligent and down to earth but kim?.. wow that girl is deluded. please ask your fans to educate themselves
ps i fully support obama and am glad you posted something so important to people...
I was there and i gotta say everybody no matter race or religion or anything else was there celebrating this momentous day. I agree with u khloe that he has the ability to turn this country around and it will take time he is not a miracle worker but he will get it done.
Khloe,
I am proud to just be an American regardless of race. It is a proud day in History for all children of the world to see that RACE didn't matter. The person that was best fitting for the job, won. I came into work and turned on CNN to watch the live feed, since I couldn't stay home and watch it. The first thing out of my co-worker's mouth was, I hope they have extra security, because he might get assassinated. I said why would you say that. He says because it's the truth. I said regardless of you saying it's the truth or not, how come for just this one day, can't you be happy. Why do you have to be the one to speak on the negativity. I said, I would think that you would be excited about this, seeing as you're a minority too. He won for all races. He believes that GOD will help him run this country properly. After we both sat here for a little while quiet, I looked at him and said, just pray for his safety. Pray for him, as you would a family member. We are as low as we can get in this country and Prayer will bring us back.
GOD BLESS AMERICA, WE WILL RISE!!!
Khloe thanks so much for posting obama on your blog he has great plans for our country in the future and I pray 2 god that everybody is please with the outcome

xoxo
i agree i am ready for some change in this nation! and i support obama in everyway!
you can see his beautiful soul right thru his eyes.
you can see his beautiful soul right thru his eyes.
Hi Khloe :)
Nothing against you or anything but can you change "black" to African-American..
It just sounds more politically correct, dont you think?
I know you have a lot of people hating on you about some racist BS (I read your "vent" post).. so it would be best to not give them another reason..
just a suggestion.
have a good day! :D
this all feel surreal, america is finally "living up to its true meaning of its creed." and now there is proof in obama that every american can pursue their happiness
~~side bar~~ to the person above me black is now officially politically correct because it was incorrect calling black ppl african american when they didnt have parents or grand parents born in africa and the fact that all black ppl and all americans period are mixed with many different backgrounds
"Black" is perfectly fine. I'm black. Let's not get away from the point of this post, people.
Obama as the world leader will do an excellent job! I wish him and his family all the best!
Joey xx
Why-
I see what your saying but its the very first time for a president has any "black" in him at all. None the less ky its a known fact that Barack becoming president shocked scared and infuriated alot of people. thus some being concerned about his safety. He's the newest target and in a world of many sick people all we can hope is that he stays safe.
