I grew up in a very accepting environment just like you. My boyfriend is black (I'm white), but THAT has nothing to do with why we're together. He could be blue, green, yellow, white, pink, or red and I'd still love him. I guess what I'm trying to say is that as long as YOU know why you're with somebody, it doesn't matter what other people think.
You can't please everybody, and I feel like some people are going to ruin it for the rest of us with all the hate/hater comments. Kim answered by saying that her family had to accept whomever you were dating and that your dad wanted kim to marry an armenian man. People will always have some negative shit to say, you wont make everyone happy, and some people thrive on hate. Just live your life and love who you love. Hey Khloe! This was very well said. Im Puerto Rican and I was raised in a household full of different cultures. My moms friends are from all over, as well as mine. I love it, you learn so much different things about people' cultures, and not to mention the food! ( i love to eat lol)..but anyway my skin is very fair and I sometimes get the comment that I look italian or whatever, and my ex boyfriend is dominican but he has a caramel complexion and in the summer he was even darker! I loved it.. =)...lol, But i can remember on so many different occasions we would get dirty looks on the train, or when we were out just in general. It was so bizarre to me how people still judge you by the color of your skin. And whats even more bizarre is that were both hispanic! So if he were my color skin then it would be ok, or if i was his color skin it would be ok? I dont know, its ignorance. Another time I remember walking with a close friend of mine thats african american; we were on the train and there was a really pretty blonde hair blue eyes girl, holding hand with a guy; im guessing the guy was her boyfriend, but he was Jamaican with the long locks..so anyway, my friend turns to me and gives me a look and I didnt get it. So i asked what the look was about and he was like "those two do not mix at all." I was shocked because i had never heard him speak like that or make comments about race, so I turned to him and asked him what he thought people were saying about us as we walked through the station. (I had noticed a couple glances our way previously), and he started to laugh. We spoke about it, and till this day he always thanks me for bringing that to his attention, because it was really ignorant of him to say the couple didnt "belong together" just because of their races.

We are not assuming all black women feel this way. I am dating a black man. Most of the negative comments that we receive come from "BLACK" women. For example: I was in Bed, Bath and Beyond the other day with my very good looking black man. Two black women strolled by and said" Look, there is another O.J.". Ha. That little bit about speaking Spanish or any other language for that matter shouldn't be an issue. Knowing how to read, speak, understand and/or write more than just one language is a very honorable skill to call your own. As a matter of fact, any job is willing to pay extra for being bilingual, trilingual, etc.

Please take note that the English language was stolen from the British. You, as well as many others may say that the English people may speak it with an "accent", but truth is, they are the ones that speak it correctly.

I am a black women (23 yrs old) live just north of Chicago,IL. I am going through a divorce from my Mexican American husband of 3yrs and 3 mths. When me and my husband were out and about in public, we got mad heat from my fellow black men. Why, I don't know. I love men of all races and I agree with you about you can't help to like or love someone who treats you great. At the time I attracted a lot of hispanic men. I see how you and Kim attract black men because you have fuller figures and black men are attracted to that. For example, Kourtney is shaped more so like a white girl, so she has a white boyfriend. Hope I am making since. But white guys don't really care for thickly built women (no offense to white men). Now, my views have changed because I don't care what anyone says, there is always going to be a racial fued that will occur in an mixed race relationship. My husband started calling me the "N" word because he felt just that comfortable LOL.. Now I am only dating in my race because I have enough stress from everyday life, it's less complicated to not deal with the race card and I can relate more to my own race because I was raised by a strong black man (my father) and my brother is a wonderful black man as well. I have a friend who's black and her boyfriend is white. They have racial arguments all the time!!! How ironic? But in conclusion, I'm not saying you and kim need to date an armanian man to please people, but I am saying that you have to sort of consider that what your black/ female fans are saying and just try to understand. I personally wish you, rashad, kim and reggie all the best!!! But you never know what it's like until you walk the walk. Remember the show Tyra Banks did when she dressed as a white man? It's sad how segragation and slavery ended already, but people are still brainwashed into thinking that if you are rich or are white, you have power. and the rest of us just live with this double consciousness of viewing ourselves in the eyes of these people. God created men and women of all different races, black, white, latino, asian, armenian etc.. we are all beautiful people with different cultures and backgrounds. right now my english and history classes are viewing racism and i just went to see a dance show at the skirball center. they danced the views of immigration and i really reccomend you watch it. they even teach you how to salsa! :)

So then they say slick, disparaging, degrading shit out their mouths about black women that shows their true colors (for the most part, regardless of how they are raised or what they think they believe, they subconsciously believe they are superior to black women... it usually starts off with feeling more desirable than black women). And then they wonder why all the backlash.

And from that point on, Black women are haters ... blah blah blah.

But it always begs the question, for you to love black culture, love the black man you're with, and you say you want to marry him, why do you have nothing nice to say his MOTHER, SISTERS, and COUSINS.

On the topic of racism: MLK Jr. gave his "I Have A Dream" speech 40 years ago and to see the barrier slowly broken down shows the progression we are making as a people. Racism is not dead...it is sad, but true. But to see the strides we all have made shows that it takes time. CHANGE is the only constant. And the election of Barack Obama is evidence of this. It wasn't only blacks or whites or latinos or asians or indians who voted for him. It was all races coming together.

I am a white female, 23 years old, and I can see a huge difference in my generation from my parents. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds because only then can you appreciate the melting pot we have here in the US. I'll admit my parents had racial prejudices, but anytime I heard a remotely racist remark, I would ask why they felt that way and then give my views. Slowly but surely my constant prodding has opened their eyes to other races and I haven't heard anything racist from them in years.

So how do we continue to push towards MLK Jr.'s "Dream?" Be OPEN to other cultures/races. When you feel a prejudice/racist sentiment coming to mind question yourself as to why you are thinking that way. Heck, when someone else makes a racist remark question why they feel that way. Only when we create a conversation and play a "devils advocate" role will we be able to help those close-minded individuals overcome their prejudices. Whether you're for or against Obama, he has hammered the point that WE as a people CAN create CHANGE. And WE are the only ones who WILL create CHANGE.

Sorry for the rambling (and going slightly off topic), but regardless of the negativity here I see hope. Racism is very much a live today and saying that it doesn't exist between all races is untrue. Yes I am a white female raised in a middle class family. My father was born in Ireland and my mother is the daughter of two Italian immigrants. My family consists of many different ethnicities and cultures- my aunt is from the Middle East, my cousin was born in South Africa etc. I was raised to believe that all men and women are equal. We are all people. Look around and see how many different skin tones there are and hair textures and facial features. We are all unique in our own ways so why base your dislike for someone on their origin, race, sex etc.
If a black women wants to date a white man or asian man or mexican or if a black man wants to date a armenian, mexican, asian or white woman who are you to pass judgement on what their relationship is based upon? Yes Khloe and her sister Kim are obviously financially successful and their boyfriends, who happen to be black are as well. No I did not because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and hoped that they based their opinions on facts and information rather than on skin tones and racism. I am not saying that I experienced more racism then anybody else but I have experienced it before.
I honestly don't believe anyone can go through life without it.
In fact many of my good friends are black and have even told me they don't categorize me as the typical white girl. I don't take offense to that but obviously there are stereotypes out there.
Is it that hard to be nice to everyone and then base your opinion on them because of their thoughts, views and feelings rather than a physical appearance. The moment you say to yourself he or she is black, white, mexican, asian, hispanic, armenian, middle-eastern- aren't you already categorizing him or her.
Why not throw that all out the window and meet a a guy or a girl for who they are? Like if you were meeting Khloe for example. She is a nice warm-hearted girl named Khloe. Don't base it on the fact that she is armenian or white or whatever and dates black men.

Khloe, it's sad to think that people have such miserable lives that they have to come here and judge you. Last time I checked, only God can judge us and I feel soooo sorry for people that have to come here and point fingers and not look at their own mistakes. While I agree you should date whomever you wish the issue here is not you and in many ways the things people are saying are not really about you per se. The African-American community has a problem in that so many Black men do not give Black women the time of day. Why is this? Well we live in a society that values White women as the standard of beauty and Black men like all men grow up with this. There are many beautiful intelligent Black women and many Black men will not look their way. They want the "idea" of a White woman. I have heard Black men say well White women "look better in the morning" their hair is straight or they are not as "strong" as Black women. All of those things are ignorant reasons to date someone and do a disservice to the White women involved with these Black men. Black women grow up in a world that tells them no matter how pretty they are they will never be "Blond" the standard of beauty. Even many young brunette girls feel a need to be Blond. Black women have to be "strong" they have no choice but that does not mean they are not supportive caring women who have nurtured the Black community through tough times. Black women ahve the lowest rate of any group, less than 1% of the population for committing suicide becuase they have to be strong. Please under stand many of the comments are really aimed at the Black men who are simply turning their backs on Black women. For example I know she is your sister but almost NO Black man would date a Black woman who was in a high profile sex tape but Reggie Bush wants to marry your sister-it hurst Black women who are out there working, taking care of themselves and looking for a man to share their lives with. That does not mean there should be not interracial dating but people should date based on what's inside including dating Black women based on what's inside not excluding them becuase their outside does not fit the White standard of beauty.
