So this might not be such a big deal to some of you but last night I went to Tattoo Mania on Sunset and got tatted! The artist's name was Dirk and he was awesome!
I have been wanting to get another tattoo for a minute now and I have been thinking long and hard about what I wanted. I was going through some of my old things the other day and I found a letter my daddy wrote me. On the card in his hand writing were the words "I love you!". I knew that is what I wanted on my wrist. So I had his writing photo copied and I got my wrist inked. I don't know if you can see it but a few months ago I got my initials tatted in white ink. I did that with the intentions that no one would really see it. So faintly underneath the "I love you" you can see my KK in white.
I am so happy with my tattoo. I smile every time I see it. I love seeing my fathers writing on me. It gives me comfort in a weird way. I hope you guys like it too!!!

Omg! That looks like such a painful spot to put it in! Looks nice and the meaning behind it is so very touching. I always thought that getting a tattoo was foolish, but this one (and the meaning behind it) doesn't seem that way. I guess to each his/her own. I still don't think i'd ever be brave enough to get a tat, but this particular one that you got makes me go "hmmm...." This is a very thoughtful thing to do in memory of your father. It's nice, it really is.

I think you picked a great design for your tattoo and a perfect place. My best friend passed away on April 30th this year and I had never wanted a tattoo until I lost him and so I got one on my right forearm (just a little bit above where yours is). I got his name inside angel wings which represents his scares on his back from his lung transplant and then his dob/dob below that. I love it and I look at everyday and it makes me feel closer to him. I know exactly how you feel and how special it feels to have it.

Wow, a tattoo that actual has some meaning, and does not look like the art project of a 1st grader. Wow, look at this stick figure art I just had inked on my body forever.... The vast majority of Tattoo's are vile flea market level art. People with no talent, who think that art is stuff that you would find in a coloring book for 4 year olds.

wsup khloe I think thats really great I got my grandparents names tatooted in armenian on my arm on hollywood blvd. and after that it reallllyy helped me " get over it " or deal with it and move on. i loved them a lot they raised me so it means a lot to me and I think thats really cute idea with your dads handwriting. so weird that you got that done, my sister passed away about 2 years ago, and my dad did the same thing as you. he had a card from his birthday that was from her and he got the 'i love you' part, and her name photocopied and tattood on him! i always thought thats the BEST idea for any tribute tattoo and im getting mine done in a couple months! sooo fabolous love!

I had a nasty accident some years ago and finished up with a number of scars. I cannot think why such a lovely looking girl like you would want to have any part of your body disfigured by having a tattoo.

I just saw ur tattoo, and i started crying. My dad died when I was 16, I'm an only child so I had no one to lean on, my mom had to go back to his country where she cremated him, i didnt even get to go to the funeral. I guess my point is that i understand your pain and i know exactly how u feel. At least u and your brother and sisters were financially stable, i was left with basically nothing all in the world by my self and my mom living in another country. So treasure ur family and everything else u all were blessed with. I am a big fan of your family's show.

I love it, I lost my neice to SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) and she was born on my sisters birthday and died shortly before my birthday so when my sister turned 18 I took her to get a tattoo and she got angel wings with hers and olivias birthday and then on the other wing she got the date she passed away, this was more for her and olivia and than I got a flower on my shoulder and in the 3 bottom petels i got OGM which stans for Olivia Grave Mitchell, I love it and I think its so wonderful that you could do something like that, it makes me cry. I totally love the idea behind your tattoo.... It will always make you think about your dad no matter what you do or where you are. I want to get a tattoo to represent my grandfather because my sister and I were only lucky enough to meet him and even though its getting easier to remember the good times and forget all the pain i still want something to represent him. I have the same tattoo.....different meaning. Im 35. My husband died 5 years ago from cancer...he was only 31. He always wanted me to get a tattoo and I was too afraid. He would always say, "I love you baby". After he passed away, one of the first things I did was get the tattoo in the same place...but it says...I love you baby. And more awesome about that is, it was his handwritting. My husband did the same thing 6 months ago. He recently found his school report card from the 70's with his mothers signature on it, and she had passed away when he was 12. He got her signature on his shoulder, and i think its amazing.

my dad passed away a little over a year ago from esophageal cancer, as i know yours did. my dad was hero, my very best friend.
my last name is young, && my poppa was only 45 when he died. he loved the song forever young by rod stewart. and always wanted forever young as a tattoo.
shortly after i died i got a chunk of the lyrics on my foot to always remind me that he's with me. it reads "i'm right behind you, win or lose, Forever Young."
you and your family are truly an inspiration to me. i watch your show and am touched how close you are. knowing others have went through losing they're hero's by this awful disease, is reassuring that i, too, can make it.

I have a very similar tattoo. I lost my mother to cancer when I was 14 (13 years ago), I have a letter that she wrote me when I was in third grade at summer camp. I got her signature tattooed on my wrist. So it says Love, Mom.
It means so much to me, so I can understand how much yours means to you.

Your tattoo on your wrist has inspired me... I too am going to get the same tattoo on my wrist " I Love You" in my Fathers handwriting. He passed away almost 20 years ago 05/26/90 and I still miss him very much!!!I think it will will be very comforting to have his writing on my wrist.
